Steve Núñez on American Exceptionalism, Islamophobia, & Kaepernick

This week on A Real Dialogue we sat down with Steve Núñez.

Steve Núñez is a proud product of the Port City. After attending Mary C. Williams Elementary, Williston Middle, and Ashley High School, Steve enlisted in the Army where he served five years as a Special Forces Weapons Sergeant. Following his enlistment, Steve contracted as a Personal Security Specialist on an Embassy Protection Detail in Kabul, Afghanistan. After becoming disenchanted with American Exceptionalism, Steve enrolled at UNCW, completing a BA in Philosophy & Religion (dual concentration) and Anthropology with minors in Middle East & Islamic Studies as well as Classical Studies. He is currently completing graduate studies at Harvard Divinity School where he hopes to graduate with a Master of Theological Studies in Religion, Ethics, and Politics. Following graduation, Steve hopes to pursue Doctoral studies focusing on the Social and Political Philosophies of W.E.B. Du Bois and Frantz Fanon.”
